This October, Spoke travels to the Netherlands for the Coalition for Cyclist Safety annual face to face, held at Helmond Castle on 15 and 16 October and hosted by Gemeente Helmond.
The gathering brings the full Coalition membership into one room: global companies from across industries, working through the practical questions that stand between V2X technology and its deployment at scale. Two days of member working sessions, with cyclists and other vulnerable road users at the centre of the agenda.
As a founding member of the Coalition alongside Audi and Bosch, Spoke has been part of this effort since it began in October 2023. The Coalition now counts 49 member organizations across 15 countries, spanning automotive, cycling, telecommunications, infrastructure, technology, research and public authorities.
That growth is the story of the past three years. Cyclist inclusion in V2X has moved from an open question to an active workstream, taken up by many of the largest names in mobility and connectivity. The annual face to face is where that work gets done in person: aligning across working groups, comparing notes from live deployment projects in North America and Europe, and setting the direction for the year ahead.
For Spoke, the event is also a chance to work directly with the partners its technology depends on. Making a cyclist digitally visible to a vehicle requires agreement far beyond any single company: on message formats, on standards, on how vehicles interpret and act on what they receive. Rooms like this are where that agreement is built.
The Coalition for Cyclist Safety is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that unites leading organizations across sectors and aligns their efforts so V2X deployment can happen at scale. Its annual face to face is a members-only event.
